Canadian International Youth and Children’s Arts Competition

Regulations

 

The development of Youth and Children’s Arts represents an important part of the future cultural establishment of humanity. It indicates how the arts will reflect the interaction between humanity’s soul and the material world.

 

Since the establishment of Atlantic Artist Association (AAA), a professional association attached to the Atlantic Culture and Arts Exchange Association  (ACAEA),  it has been regarded as its personal duty to promote the development of youth and children’s arts. With the approval of the AAA presidential conference, it is decided to hold the Canadian international youth and children’s arts competition on November 27, 2015.

 

The competition includes 4 age groups: ages 6 to 9, 10 to 12, 13 to 15, and 16 to 18. Each age group is divided into 4 categories: 1. oil painting; 2. water color painting; 3. traditional Chinese painting;   4. sketches.  For each pair of category and age group, 1 contestant for top prize, 2 for secondary prize, 3 for third prize and certain number of contestants for honorable prize.  Moreover, 3 persons for a special prize are to be awarded by ACAEA (for children with disabilities). In addition, certain number of persons for gardener prize (for the instructors).

 

Each of the awarded works (not including the gardener prize) will be granted with a certificate and published in the magazine of “Famous Personal name Business" as well as in the website of ACAEA. Every selected work will receive a certificate of being selected, which will be displayed in the Canadian International Youth and Children’s Arts Exhibition.

 

The required work specifications are as follows: Regardless of what kind of work, the area (length x width) must not surpass 720 squares inches, or  0.46 square metesr, the traditional Chinese painting area must not surpass 68 cm x 68 cm. The area must not be smaller than 80 squares inches, or 20 cm x 25 cm. No frame is needed.

 

Each work must have the author’s signature or the seal stamp. The participants must fill in a participative registration form. In the registration form, each participant must fill in their name, their age, their address, their competition type, their instructor(s) (optional), their nationality, and their email address. The work must not contain any propaganda that violates the Canadian law and the law of the author’s native country. The authors have ownership of their works under copyright. The ACAEA is authorized to photograph and comment on the works, but not used for any commercial purposes.  The ACAEA does not take any responsibility for the safety of their works during the mailing and displaying process.

 

The work can be sent by mail. The postage fee should be paid for by the author. The mailing address is:

Within 3 months after the display, all the works will be returned. The postage is included in the participation fee. To clarify,  there is no need to pay again.

 

Participative expense:  $20 CDN for each Canada participant; $25 USD/person for all other participants.

Work acceptance deadline: October 30, 2015

The participation is accepted when and only when the work and the bank drafts are received before the deadline.

 

The appraisal committee will be composed of well-known painters, artistic educationalists and artistic college and university experts.  The evaluation will be completed by anonymous ballot, which will guarantee the fairness of the appraisal. The AAA will update the status of the competition on the ACAEA website.

Please be aware that the competition staff and participants must be act with honesty and integrity. Any counterfeits, or works that do not conform to the above stipulation will be regard as invalid.  The work will be returned but not any expense for the participation. The AAA holds the authority to issue the statement and declare that the work is invalid, recover the awarded prize, and the claim to any compensation for loss of reputation.
